Personal and professional growth is pivotal to supporting the staff in our respective workplaces. Having worked with a number of leaders and teams this past fortnight, I would like to share with you some strategies that leaders may wish to use to identify the learning needs of their staff. These include:
- Contemplate the organisation’s vision, mission and strategies for growth
- Invite employees to regularly engage in feedback surveys
- Review the organisation’s and employee’s measures for success
- Schedule regular check-in meetings where all team members share their achievements, concerns and or recommendations.
Working with our staff in a transparent, respectful and collegial manner goes a very long way to building a positive, mutually reciprocal and accountable workplace culture.
